Title: External SPAM Filter Integration - SMTP connection limit to 1 IP address

re: External SPAM Filter Integration - SMTP connection limit to 1 IP address

Have been using the Mail Toaster for several years and it works great.  Our new corporate heirarchy has us implementing Barracuda SPAM filters on all our mail servers.  I can redirect the MX records to send the mail to the external filter, and it will in turn filter it and send it back. That part works just fine.

But in order to lock the server down we need to stop it from accepting SMTP connections from just anybody.  I want to be able to just have it accept connections from the external filter.

I did not do the initial config on this system and I've mostly done just the user support, so this may be a newbie type question. But how would you do it?

From looking at the forums I may be able to put the IP address of our external filter in the tcp.smtp file allowing all messages from that address.  But I haven't been able to find any place to stop it from connecting to other addresses.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is the perfect job for PF, which you should have installed anyway. :-)
