Title: Purging Email box
Post by: chuy08 on May 02, 2007, 12:50:47 PM
I have an email box setup as a catchall for my domain and I would like to purge the contents of this email box.  What is the easiest way to purge the box?  I realize that I can do it through squirrelmail but there is like 100,000 messages and that would take to long.

Well since no responses came back and I had to get it done I played around with it till I figured it out.  Not sure if this is recommended or even the proper way of doing this but it worked for me and I played with it extensively to make sure I wouldn't mess anything up.

Basically all mails are contained in the vpopmail directory (default on BSD install is /usr/local/vpopmail) within that directory there is the domain to which the users belongs and then the user in questions directory will be below that.  Finally their will be a Maildir directory a cur and a new directory beneath that.  Get yourself into both of these directories and issue a rm * to remove all mails for said account.
