Title: simple problem - whenever I change the "/control/me" file
Post by: tegan on September 30, 2005, 03:39:11 AM
Ok guys and girls. I have a real winner for yah.

Im scratching my head over this. I typed my hostname incorrectly in the /var/qmail/control/me file. So I naturally go and correct it, however my change doesnt want to stick.

the "me" file has "fire.slinkcom.net" in it.
I vi the bad mother and change it to "ice.slinkcom.net" but for some reason It keeps changing itself back to "fire.slinkcom.net" after a while.

Thanks,
Tegan

Maybe something is re-writing that file for you. Perhaps you should see what hostname you have entered in toaster-watcher.conf. I think you'll find the offensive hostname in there.

I changed the toaster-watcher.conf file accordingly. Now when I send an e-mail it appends my FQDN to the address.

For instance if I send a message from user tegan it appends ice.slinkcom.net to it. "tegan@ice.slinkcom.net" when it needs to just be "tegan@slinkcom.net"

Also I can send e-mail but can't seem to recieve them. Is their any  location I should be looking to see if I'm actually getting them?
