Title: Email server crashing
Post by: mikeyg on July 09, 2004, 02:22:55 PM
For some reason I have been having the problem where the servers are crashing or stopping.  one sec they will be up and running and the next day they are gone.  Sometimes smtp or send is still running but none of the logs are running.  Im wondering if this is a svsscan problem or is one of the servise causing svsscan to die?

We aren't dealing with windows here. Random crashes and spontaneous reboots are almost always hardware related. In the dozen or so times this problems has appeared on the toaster owners list, it's been resolved by replacing hardware components.

No the box is not rebooting, svscan is dying, I think it has something to do with toaster-watcher.pl cause I removed the crontab entry for it and it hasnt died yet in like 2 days.
